Velma McAfee Williams Community Lunch

The Velma McAfee William’s Community Lunch

Tuesday, September 18th

Esther’s Room on the 2nd floor of the Cohen House

At the last lunch, attendees simply had a chance to get to know each other.
This is something we know will be a component of every lunch, but we also
want to encourage discussion around various topics. For the coming lunch on
Tuesday, September 18, lets discuss some of the unique challenges and
struggles you all have faced in your graduate program thus far. If there
are things that you wish someone had told or taught you before starting
school, have it in mind. These lunches are informal. So, the conversation
is welcome to stray from this topic.

The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and members of the Black
graduate student leadership organize these lunches to foster community and
support the academic success of Rice students. Lunch, as usual, will be
provided free of charge. Please feel free to stop by for whatever amount of
time works for you.
